How do we recognise the key ingredients of being able to learn well. It starts with awareness of ourselves as a learner, then shifts to our mindset in relation to learning and finally moves to taking responsibility for our learning. Below are descriptors which help you recognise where you might be at a given point in time. They can be used for self reflection or as part of a coaching conversation with a learner.
A few words of warning:
the behaviours described are highly dynamic and shift with context. For example my mindset when learning about learning is very different than when learning about cooking.
They are a completely made up measure and so not to be used for comparison
They are really powerful though!
